End of 2025 Review

2025 was a year of flexing new skills - like Event Planning - and revisiting old skills - like Documentary Filmmaking and Distribution.

BRATTLEBORO RETREAT GALA - Project Manager

I so appreciate the many times an interview has went like this - “well I haven’t done that before, but I’m sure I could figure it out” and then I’ve been hired. That’s how the Retreat interview went - I’ve never 'event planned’ before, but I’ve managed many ‘events’ with large crews and organized long term planning, so as long as I could remember to get the place settings ordered, I figured we’d be all set. It was a 7 month endeavor to plan the magical evening honoring local Elizabeth Catlin and brining the community out to support and celebrate the important work done at the Retreat every day. I loved working with the many local vendors, which brought back memories of crews doing what they do best on big Los Angeles award shows - but this time it was down a dirt road along a river, 15min from my hometown.

GONE GUYS DOCUMENTARY - Producer

I’ve been so grateful to work with the organizations bringing “Gone Guys” to life. Made by Well Told Films and presented by the Vermont Community Foundation and The Richard E. & Deborah L. Tarrant Foundation, the award winning film has been exceeding all our hopes for engaging communities in this complex conversation.

After managing the filming and editing, I’ve been focusing my skills on Impact Producing, to distribute the film in a way that engages communities. Since “Gone Guys” premiered in July, some 3,500 people have seen the film. We’ve hosted 17 screening and discussion events and supported the organization of another 25 community-hosted screenings throughout Vermont. We’ve worked with organizations in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Missouri, Oregon, Iowa, and the Netherlands to bring the film to their own communities, and have fielded nearly 200 “host a screening” requests – including ones from Canada, the UK, Australia, Myanmar and Nairobi! Gone Guys has been an official selection at 5 Film Festivals and won 2 awards (Best Documentary Feature & the Johnathan Daniels Award), and we’ve welcomed the J. Warren and Lois McClure Foundation as a major sponsor.

I’m honored to continue this work through 2026 and can’t wait to see where the film goes.
